Hueforia App Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 26, 2026

This section applies to the Hueforia mobile application on Apple iOS and Google Android. Hueforia is operated by Whimsy Tales Art Ltd. The store privacy information above remains in effect for the Whimsy Tales website and online shop.

What Hueforia does not collect

Hueforia does not require an app account or collect your name, email address, postal address, phone number, health information, credit score, banking information, contacts, calendar, audio files, or web-browsing history through the app. Payment details are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play and are not provided directly to us.

Photos stay on your device

If you choose photos for palette extraction, Mood Boards, share cards, or related creative tools, Hueforia processes and renders those photos on your device. The photo or video files are not uploaded to Whimsy Tales, RevenueCat, PostHog, Sentry, Cloudflare, OpenAI, or another external server. You control which photos the app can access through the platform photo picker and device permissions.

Information processed to operate Hueforia

  • Purchases and access: Apple App Store or Google Play processes purchases. RevenueCat receives an anonymous App User ID, store receipt or purchase history, product and subscription status, and limited device/store metadata so Hueforia can provide and restore paid access. Hueforia does not receive your full payment-card details.
  • Product analytics: When analytics is enabled, PostHog receives app-interaction events, app and operating-system version, device metadata, build channel, a randomly assigned or anonymous identifier, and non-identifying app properties such as access tier, preferred medium, owned series, or streak. We use this information to understand feature use and improve Hueforia. Autocapture and session replay are disabled. You can opt out of product analytics in Hueforia settings.
  • Crashes and performance: Sentry receives crash logs, stack traces, diagnostics, device model, operating-system and app version, and limited performance data so we can diagnose failures and improve reliability. Default personal-information collection is disabled and sensitive photo values are filtered.
  • Text-to-Palette: If you choose this feature, Hueforia sends the short colour description you enter, compact palette intent, an anonymous App User ID, and usage counters through a Cloudflare Worker to OpenAI to generate a palette. The Worker does not persist the raw prompt in quota storage. OpenAI storage is disabled for the request, although OpenAI may retain limited abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days.
  • Device and approximate location: Service providers may process IP address or derive approximate location for security, store operation, product analytics, or service reliability. Hueforia does not request precise location. The Android app does not request the Google Advertising ID. On iOS, attribution identifiers such as IDFA are used only when Apple permission is granted; other Apple-provided device or store identifiers may be processed as permitted by the platform.

How information is used

We use the information described above only to operate app features, validate and restore purchases, prevent abuse, understand feature use, diagnose crashes, maintain security, and improve Hueforia. Hueforia does not display third-party advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

Service providers and disclosure

Information may be processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, PostHog, Sentry, Cloudflare, and OpenAI for the purposes described above. Where applicable on iOS, attribution partners such as Meta may receive permitted attribution data, and communications providers such as Klaviyo process contact information only when you separately choose to provide it outside the app. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or our rights, or in connection with a lawful business transfer.

Retention and security

Information is retained only for the period reasonably necessary for the purposes above and according to each service provider's settings and legal obligations. Sentry diagnostic information is currently retained for up to 90 days. OpenAI abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days. Purchase records may be retained as required for accounting, fraud prevention, store compliance, and restoring purchases. Data sent from the app is encrypted in transit.

Your choices and deletion requests

Hueforia has no app account to delete. You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app or using available reset controls, revoke photo access in device settings, and opt out of product analytics in Hueforia settings. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of server-side data associated with Hueforia, email louis@whimsytales.com. Because the app uses anonymous identifiers, we may ask for device or app details sufficient to locate the relevant records. We aim to respond within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.

Children

Hueforia is a general-audience creativity tool and is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly collect names, email addresses, photos, precise location, or other direct contact information from children through the app.

International processing

Our service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where they operate. We use reasonable contractual, organizational, and technical measures to protect information during such processing.

Changes and contact
